Great things happen for students when teachers, parents, staff, and the community work together.  I would like to thank the parents that have helped out with all the PTSA events, so far this year.  Whether you are new to Northwest, or have had a student here before, your participation in the education process is essential to the success of each and every student. We want to invite you to join the PTSA and support all of the great activities that go on here at Northwest. By becoming a member, you show the students, teachers, staff, and community that you care about the programs that PTSA provides for the students.

Some of the activities of the PTSA:

• providing members to serve on the site base leadership team.
• advocating on behalf of parents, students, and/or staff on issues of concern
• running the Reflections Cultural Arts Program
• awarding several college scholarships
• supplying treats to staff on appreciation days
• purchasing equipment, materials, and books for the school
• organizing chaperones for school dances
• communicating information to families through the Northwest newsletter.
• recognizing student achievement through Bravo and the underclassman awards ceremony
• promoting beautification of school grounds
• sponsoring the career fair, senior picnic and senior bash night, along with many other school activities.

If you have not yet joined the PTSA, I encourage you to do so, and become a valuable part of the great things happening at Northwest High School.
